The hard reality of the art market at auction

Looks like Lorreta Lux photographs are going through some serious art market devaluation. I mean, before the art market bubble bursted an, 8x10 inches photograph of hers will command up to $72,000.00 USD @ auction. Now a humble and still over hipped estimate of $7,000.00-9,000.00 . Oh... they also ended up on display on the staircase where nobody wants to trip on their Manolo's to catch a glimpse of them. Glamour takes a fall? Meow!

ARTmostfierce Affordable Print Pick of the  Week this week comes from photographer Timothy Briner . He has special and very limited print sale to raise funds for his ongoing Coney Island after Sandy photo-documentary project.

If you are like me, you love original works of art but can never afford the gallery price tag. For the next 2 1/2 months I am selling work at a fraction of my usual gallery prices. I will be offering 2 limited-edition prints per week for the next 10 weeks. The funds will help me continue to document Coney Island in the wake of hurricane Sandy.
Prints for sale are from two bodies of work:
Between the Space We Live (2006-present)
Gotham City (2012-present)

$45 Limited-Edition Prints!
• My edition prices are down from $350 to $45 for the next 10 weeks.
• 20 images will be available for purchase.
• 2 images released each week for 10 weeks.
• 11x14" prints, each in an edition of 15.
• Silver Gelatin & Archival Pigment Prints.

Enjoy!!
